Bottom of the Well & Shadow Temple

Chapter 14 of 16 of the Ocarina of Time remake walkthrough, played as Young Link, in 7 steps.

Return to Kakariko with three medallions: the well erupts and Sheik teaches the Nocturne. The Lens of Truth, needed for the Shadow Temple, lies in the Bottom of the Well as a child.

  1. Enter Kakariko as an adult with the Forest, Fire and Water medallions for the cutscene and the Nocturne of Shadow.
  2. Go back in time (Temple of Time, replace the Master Sword). As a child, play the Song of Storms inside the Kakariko windmill to drain the well. Climb down into the Bottom of the Well.
  3. Bottom of the Well: invisible walls and floors everywhere. Find the Small Keys, then defeat Dead Hand (let it grab you, then strike its head) for the Lens of Truth.
  4. Return to adulthood and warp with the Nocturne. Light the torches with Din's Fire to open the Shadow Temple.
  5. Shadow Temple: use the Lens of Truth constantly. Defeat Dead Hand again for the Hover Boots, then ride the boat after playing Zelda's Lullaby.
  6. After the boat sinks, shoot the Bomb Flowers on the far side to drop a bridge, or hover across. Find the Boss Key in the invisible-floor rooms.
  7. Boss: Bongo Bongo. Use the Lens to see it; shoot both hands then its eye, and slash. Shadow Medallion.
